The Deschaux is inspired by real Renaissance fencing swords from the late 16th Century that had a traditional three ringed swept hilt and a rapier blade. They feature a functional 39 inch 1065 high carbon steel blade that is ¾ inch wide and 3/16th of an inch thick. They are light and fast with a classical bone handle design. The real bone handle varies in color due to the nature of this material, ranging from off-white to a tan color. The genuine bone handle features a wire wrap.
