Scottish Short Swords or Dirk
are 17 5/8"
overall. These short swords have a 11 5/8" unsharpened steel blade with etch. Black composition handle
with polished metal bolster and pommel. Black leather covered scabbard with
polished metal fittings.
Scottish Dirk:
A dirk would be found commonly in Scotland circa 1700. This
piece was a must have for any highlander. The blade is single
edged and sharpened to a fine point. Often the dirk would be held in the
same hand as the arm that was holding the targe with the dirk pointing down
to prevent his adversary from
closing in on him.
