Medieval Battle Style Swords by Valiant Armoury
Scottish Swords
Overall Length:
38" Scottish Swords: These slender swords typifies the style of weapons used by the Scottish and their Irish cousins in the mid 13th century. Its tapered 30 inch blade and heavy wheel pommel make it an amazingly balanced and swift weapon capable of both slashing and thrusting. Though the wheel pommel’s first job is to add balance to a sword, in a pinch this heavy piece of steel held close to the bottom of the fist could double as a bludgeoning tool. This tactic gave birth to the term pummeling. The forward sloped lobed quillons make it possible for a skilled swordsman to entangle his opponent’s weapon allowing him the chance to over power a lesser man with either a second weapon like a dirk, or simply by grappling the opponent and wrestling him to the ground. (Leather Scabbard Included)
Back to: Battle Ready Swords Valiant Armoury swords and edged collectibles are designed to be real swords. They are not to be used in theatrical-style reenacting except where specifically named for that purpose and designed for that specific use. You should not strike a sword against another sword. Swords are subject to the laws of Physics. No matter how strong the steel is in any sword or edged collectible, it can nick or chip when struck against another sword or something hard. While our practical and functional swords and edged collectibles are designed to be used for soft target cutting only i.e. tamashigiri (the cutting of mats), they should only be used for that purpose by well trained professionals. Never perform cutting exercises without proper training and supervision. While Valiant Armoury swords and edged collectibles certainly could be used to cut many other items or objects, this is not their intended use and it is quite dangerous to do so and any use other than for its intended purpose will void the warranty and endanger the user. |
