Paul Chen Hanwei Practical Katana Swords are 39 ½” overall. The 27 ¼” sharpened high carbon steel blade is differentially hardened and forged creating a HRC60 edge and HRC40 back. These swords have an authentic and prominent temper line. The fittings are sturdily built to withstand rigorous cutting activities. The simulated rayskin handle is 11 ¼” with a black cord wrap. The tsuba is black coated metal. The weight is 2lb 5 oz. The point of balance is 5 ¾”. The guard has a thickness of 0.27” with a width of 1.22”. The tip of the Practical Katana has a thickness of 0.18” and width of 0.87”. The Sori is ¾”. The Practical Katana includes cloth storage sleeve and a wooden scabbard with a black lacquer finish.
