35.5" Duke of Exeter Sword: This sword is named after the Duke of Exeter, the uncle to King Henry V’s. With its 28 inch cut & thrust style blade, this sword typifies the style of armament that served the English king and his men at the battle of Agincourt. With a diamond cross-section to give it the rigidity needed to push through the joints in a suit of plate armor, swords of this type were indispensable to the English king and his kinsmen. The down swept steel guard and wheel pommel help give this sword a perfectly balanced feel, allowing it to swing easily in one hand while leaving the off hand free to make use of a shield or for grappling. They are not to be used in theatrical-style reenacting except where specifically named for that purpose and designed for that specific use. You should not strike a sword against another sword. Swords are subject to the laws of Physics. No matter how strong the steel is in any sword or edged collectible, it can nick or chip when struck against another sword or something hard. While our practical and functional swords and edged collectibles are designed to be used for soft target cutting only i.e. tamashigiri (the cutting of mats), they should only be used for that purpose by well trained professionals. Never perform cutting exercises without proper training and supervision. While Valiant Armoury swords and edged collectibles certainly could be used to cut many other items or objects, this is not their intended use and it is quite dangerous to do so and any use other than for its intended purpose will void the warranty and endanger the user. |
